The crew’s phone
Working a stop, with or without signal.
The phone app is what your crew uses on site, built for one hand, in daylight, wearing gloves, and for the basement with no bars.
Does it work without signal?
Yes. Checklists, photos, notes and time record on the device and upload when there is a connection again. Nothing is lost out of range.
What can a crew member see?
Their own work: the day’s stops, the address, the arrival window, what the job involves, and any notes.
Money and client records are the office’s. A crew member cannot see what a job is worth or what anyone else is doing.
How does time tracking work?
Start and stop against the visit. Time lands on the job, so labour cost and margin come from what happened rather than an estimate.
How do photos reach the office?
Take them on the visit; they attach to it and appear on the job. You can then put them on the customer’s page or an invoice.
How do I install it?
Open the field address in the phone browser and add it to the home screen. It then opens like an app, full screen, and keeps working offline.
How does a crew member mark a stop done?
Complete the visit on the stop screen. If a checklist is attached, the steps are ticked first, “done” means the work was done, not that somebody said so.
Can the crew add a note the office will see?
Yes. Notes recorded on the visit appear on the job in the office, with who wrote them.
What happens if two people edit the same visit?
The later write wins and narra tells you if what you are saving was based on a stale copy, rather than silently overwriting someone.
Does the phone show the route?
It shows the day’s stops in the order the office saved, and can hand an address to your maps app for navigation.
Can a crew member see tomorrow?
Yes. The schedule is not limited to today, so someone can see what is coming and plan materials.
What if the crew has no account?
They cannot see anything. Add them in Settings → Team first; work is assigned to people, not to phone numbers.
What narra does not do
- The phone cannot create or edit a job. That is the office’s.
- There is no offline map; navigation needs a connection.
- Crew cannot see or record payments.
- There is no in-app chat between crew and office.
